Young Scholars Florence Fellowships 2020: the call for applications

The Sangalli Institute is glad to announce to the international community of the young researchers (included the Italians) the publication of the call for applications to the ‘Young Scholars Florence Fellowships in Religious History and Religious Studies’: three residencial monthly fellowhips (worth 2.000,00 euros each) will be offered for 2020 to international young scholars of any nationality with an adequate qualification on religious topics, privileging interdisciplinary and interreligious perspectives. ‘Sangalli Institute Award for the Religious History 2019’ – Call for publications

Here is the fifth edition of the ‘Sangalli Institute Award for the Religious History’, in collaboration with the Department of University and Research of the Municipality of Florence, with a judging board composed of renowned Italian and Foreign scholars. Also this year, our award is joining the ‘Premio Ricerca Città di Firenze’ and it is addressed to young Italian and Foreign researchers, offering them the possibility of publishing two books concerning the religious history  from Middle Ages to the Contemporary Era, in an inter-disciplinary and inter-religious perspective. The essays will appear in a dedicated book series of the Firenze University Press. Deadline: 1st November 2019.

Workshop call for papers ‘Entangled Knowledges. Education and Culture in Judaism, Christianity and Islam (XIVth-XIXth centuries)’

The Sangalli Institute wish to dedicate the fifth edition of its annual workshop for young researchers to the relations among the three monotheistic religions under the perspective of the education and the trasmission of culture. Thus, it will be offered 10 grants for young researchers who want to participate to the workshop “Entangled Knowledges. Education and Culture in Judaism, Christianity and Islam (XIVth-XIXth centuries)”. The participation is open to young researchers in History, History of Education, History of Arts, Philology and History of Literature, and Religious Studies. Inspired by the alarming re-emerging of racist, xenophobic and anti-semitic feelings and behaviors in our societies, the Sangalli Institute offers 12 grants for young researchers who wish to participate to the workshop “Ethnical and Racial Discriminations and Religious Identities: Norms, Practices and Interactions, 1400-1850”. The participation is open to young researchers in historical, anthropological, literary and art-historical disciplines and in religious studies. For Montini-La Pira epistolary, 1944-1963: call for application for a scholarship

We are glad to announce the call for application for a scholarship about the critic edition of the letters between mons. Giovan Battista Montini and Giorgio La Pira from the 40s to the first 60s of Twentieth Century. The call for application is the result of a collaboration with the Fondazione Giorgio La Pira in Florence and the Istituto Paolo VI in Concesio (Bs), which will publish the book. Second post-war period in Italy with Montini and La Pira’s experiences will offer a wide range of aspects of Italian political, cultural and spiritual life. ‘Florence in the Religious Crisis of the Sixteenth Century’: call for participation of 10 young scholars

The Sangalli Institute, aiming to promote the participation of young scholars to the intenational conference ‘Florence in the Religious Crisis of the Sixteenth Century.
