Empires and Religions. Call for scolarships for the sixth workshop for young researchers

The Sangalli Institute wish to dedicate the sixth edition of its annual workshop for young researchers, which restarts this year after the forced pause caused by the pandemics, to the empires of the modern age and to how the religions has affected their historical life. Thus, it will be offered 10 grants for young researchers who want to participate to the workshop “Empires and Religions: how religious factors have innervated, justified and contributed to rises and falls (1450-1850)”. The participation is open to young researchers in History, History of Arts, History of Literature, and Religious Studies. The workshop will take place at our Institute from October 25th to 27th 2023, with the participation of renowned Italian and foreign scholars: download the call for papers for more details. The Archives of the Roman Noble Families: II° Summer Workshop, Rome 22nd-26th May 2023

From Monday 22nd to Friday 26th May the second summer workshop organized by our Institute in order to facilitate a deepen knowledge of the archives of some important Roman noble families (Caetani, Colonna, Doria Pamphilj, Massimo and Orsini), and of the documents preserved therein, will take place in Rome, at the Sala Erba inside the Barnabite complex of S. Carlo ai Catinari. The lectures will be held by renowned scholars in history and history of art. There will be also guided tours to the archives and the art galleries of the above mentioned families. A new occasion addressed to young and older scholars of various disciplines (history, history of art and architecture) in order to support the historical research and the enhancement of the ecclesiastical documentary heritage.
